Well, what can we say about Liam? If Stewart Lee, Jack Dee and Morrissey ever had a child together then Liam is who they would call son. Liam started performing stand up in Manchester in June 2012. His unique style is a breath of fresh air to the circuit with Liam has crafted his own unique brand of stand up, mixing cleverly honed material and punchlines with excitingly unpredictable audience interaction.
All this, mixed in with a hint of ‘whimsy’ and clever observations whilst delivered in a wonderfully unenthusiastic and grumpy style. Liam has become a circuit favourite and is destined for big things. A highly intelligent writer and fantastic performer who is as capable doing sets As he is compering.
In 2015, Liam performed his debut solo show to a sold out audience at the Liverpool Comedy Festival and then Liam returned in 2016 with his new solo show which he also took to the Nottingham Comedy Festival that same year.
In 2017 Liam performed at the Edinburgh Festival as part of the iconic AAA Stand Up Showcase at the Gilded Balloon. Toussaint Douglass is one of comedy’s most exciting and talked about new names and is already making serious waves across the industry. His innovative brand of stand up mixes the personal with the political, whilst adding a uniquely absurdist slant to brilliant comic effect.
In 2018 he burst onto the circuit gigging at top venues such as The Comedy Store, Top Secret Comedy Club, Banana Cabaret, Backyard Comedy Club, The Glee Clubs, Frog & Bucket, Komedia Brighton & Up The Creek and achieved rave reviews for his outstanding performances at several major UK comedy competitions.
Toussaint made his TV debut on BBC Presents: Stand Up For Live Comedy (BBC Three) and has supported massive comedy names including Russell Howard and Paul Chowdhry.
Toussaint is currently writing on The Russell Howard Hour for Sky One and contributing to multiple BBC scripted projects.
Seriously talented, joyfully absurd and charmingly awkward with deceptively subversive writing, there is never a dull moment when Toussaint Douglass takes to the stage
There’s something of a Richard Ayoade vibe to Toussaint Douglass, stiffly awkward and on a different plane from rest of the world. He creates vivid, slightly absurd, images of his life…but it’s skilfully concealed beneath a charming quirkiness. One of the best and most distinctive acts… ” His innovative brand of stand up mixes the personal with the political, whilst adding a uniquely absurdist slant to brilliant comic effect.
