Kevin moved from his native town of Bognor Regis with a burning ambition to become a successful stand-up comic and instantly gained critical recognition, being a finalist in both the Laughing Horse New act of the Year and Krater New Act of the Year competitions (2002).

Hailed as one of the funniest and nicest blokes you could meet, Kevin quickly became, and remains, a regular performer at professional comedy clubs on the UK circuit. In 2009 he was asked to perform support slots for ifcomedies nominees (now called The Fosters Comedy Award), Mickey Flanagan and Ivan Brackenbury on their national tours.

Kevin has also enjoyed success at the Edinburgh comedy festival and 2013 saw  his fourth solo show “Confess Nothing”. Kevin has been honing his skills at the fringe since his debut show “Comics Die in Hot Cars” (2006), developing his writing style with two more successful follow-up shows “Caronicle” (2011) and “Thus Spoke Kev” (2012). Kevin combines a witty, light hearted and often lyrical style of storytelling with laugh-out-loud punchlines and a charming onstage persona.

As well as performing his own solo shows, Kevin is a sought after director, working with many popular festival favourites. His most famous collaboration and longstanding working relationship is with Tom Binns. Kevin has worked with Tom, on his Ian D Montford shows. This successful dynamic has seen Tom’s show become a BBC Radio 2 series “Ian D Montford is Unbelievable”, adding radio writing credits to his CV.  Kevin has directed two shows (Milo McCabe: Schiz 2013 and Pierre Novellie: Mighty Peter 2014) that reached The Amused Moose Laughter Awards final. Toussaint Douglass is one of comedy’s most exciting and talked about new names and is already making serious waves across the industry. His innovative brand of stand up mixes the personal with the political, whilst adding a uniquely absurdist slant to brilliant comic effect.

In 2018 he burst onto the circuit gigging at top venues such as The Comedy Store, Top Secret Comedy Club, Banana Cabaret, Backyard Comedy Club, The Glee Clubs, Frog & Bucket, Komedia Brighton & Up The Creek and achieved rave reviews for his outstanding performances at several major UK comedy competitions.

Toussaint made his TV debut on BBC Presents: Stand Up For Live Comedy (BBC Three) and has supported massive comedy names including Russell Howard and Paul Chowdhry.

Toussaint is currently writing on The Russell Howard Hour for Sky One and contributing to multiple BBC scripted projects.

Seriously talented, joyfully absurd and charmingly awkward with deceptively subversive writing, there is never a dull moment when Toussaint Douglass takes to the stage

There’s something of a Richard Ayoade vibe to Toussaint Douglass, stiffly awkward and on a different plane from rest of the world. He creates vivid, slightly absurd, images of his life…but it’s skilfully concealed beneath a charming quirkiness. One of the best and most distinctive acts… ” His innovative brand of stand up mixes the personal with the political, whilst adding a uniquely absurdist slant to brilliant comic effect.
